‘6G in the Hot Seat’ at FYUZ 2025

During FYUZ 2025, NGMN brought together key players from across the telco ecosystem for an open discussion on the hottest topics concerning 6G, highlighting the pivotal moment on the mobile communications roadmap, as well as the importance of global collaboration and alignment.

Led by NGMN’s leadership and Board Members, the “6G in the Hot Seat” breakout session provided an interactive platform for participants to explore what needs to be considered for a successful journey to 6G, delivering end user value, and meeting operator requirements.
The discussion reinforced the industry’s shared commitment to defining clear 6G requirements through close collaboration across operators, vendors, and the wider ecosystem.

Emerging topics for 6G such as ‘AI for networks and networks for AI’ and ‘network evolution focused on software-driven innovation cycles’ were among the discussions of the 80 individuals in attendance.
Participants also explored the shift towards open, disaggregated network architectures to enable the flexibility required for AIOps, cloud-native deployments, and CI/CD practices, as well as the critical role of real-time data access in enabling advanced network automation in the next era. This included MNOs, vendors, system integrators, research, academia, media, and analysts.

We also shared the latest NGMN operator-led guidance on 6G, highlighting the importance for the whole industry to be aligned with these goals.
