As the telecom industry explores how AI can transform network operations, automation and service delivery, collaboration across operators, vendors and the wider ecosystem will be essential to turn vision into reality. Through independent research, industry collaboration and continuous knowledge exchange, ANTA aims to help the industry navigate the opportunities and challenges of AI-native transformation.

At NGMN, we look forward to contributing operator perspectives and engaging with the broader ecosystem to help shape the future of AI-enabled and AI-native networks.

Measuring the most connected World Cup in history — in real time

Innovation often comes from new ways of understanding real-world challenges.

That’s why NGMN is pleased to support Mundial 5G, an initiative by TeleSemana that estimates mobile data traffic in real time across FIFA World Cup stadiums, offering unique insights into how networks perform during one of the world’s largest live events.

After just six days and 20 matches, the initiative has already measured an estimated 770 TB of mobile data – showing that peak traffic often occurs at half-time, and that network demand reflects fan engagement as much as attendance.

We were pleased to be supporting organisation of the Telecom TV “DSP Leaders World Forum” at the Fairmont Windsor Park, from 5–26 June 2024, where our CEO Anita Döhler and our esteemed Board Member and Co-host Laurent Leboucher (Orange) attended for this exciting two-day event.

Together with other industry leaders they  looked at the dynamics of the digital services sector and the likely connectivity requirements for the years ahead, as well as explored key elements of network technology and operations.

DSP Leaders World Forum – The Green Network

This year’s DSP Leaders World Forum was extended to incorporate The Green Network in partnership with the NGMN Alliance.

Our CEO Anita Döhler spoke at 2 panels, one about energy efficiency and its impact on service innovation, co-hosted by NGMN´s Board Member Howard Watson (BT), the second one about the importance of collaboration for achieving sustainability, including the required ecosystem.

The latter was part of The Green Network in partnership with the NGMN Alliance, an afternoon fully dedicated to strategies for energy efficiency, power optimisation and sustainable supply chain.
