Our CEO Anita Dรถhler spoke at IEEE CSCN 2023ย about NGMN’s path to 6G and delved into NGMN’s pivotal role in propelling the Mobile Industry towards the next generation of networks.

She placed particular emphasis on NGMN’s three strategic topics, building upon each other: Mastering Disaggregated Networks/E2E Operating Disaggregated Networks, Green Future Networks and 6G.

The work on 6G prioritises amongst others: network energy efficiency, network simplification, and the imperative to respond to market demand with innovative use cases, clearly differentiating from use cases delivered by the fully implemented 5G.ย  Within this context, Anita also discussed our publication, “๐Ÿฒ๐—š ๐—ฃ๐—ผ๐˜€๐—ถ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—ฆ๐˜๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ฒ๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜: ๐—”๐—ป ๐—ข๐—ฝ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐—ฉ๐—ถ๐—ฒ๐˜„“, shedding light on critical perspectives and insights it offers. Our CEOย Anita Dรถhler joined two engaging panels at the Fyuz 2023 in Madrid.

On the first panel “Engaging with multi-vendor supply chain” Anita and other executivesย  discussed engagement with multi-vendor supply chains, when going for open and disaggregated solutions โ€“ based on early experiences on purchasing, integrating, deploying and operating solutions, such as Open RAN.

On the second panel “Upskilling Summit” – opening up conversations around diversity, Anita shared her personal experiences and how she aims to aspire many young talents to reach for their goals.

Going Beyond 5G

The industry-oriented event mirrored the state of affairs for 5G, lessons learned from the initial 5G operator rollouts, and the standardization refocusing on non-public/campus networks.

Towards 6G โ€“ Drivers and State of Play – in her keynote “6G Drivers, Building a Sustainable Route to 6G”, our CEO Anita Dรถhler shared NGMNโ€™s vision and design considerations for 6G, building on and extending beyond our existing 5G ecosystem, with the imperative need to deliver value to end-users and simplifying network operations.

NGMN issued three 6G publications: Vision & Drivers, Use Cases & Analysis, Requirements & Design Considerations, continuing now with the collaborative work on E2E requirements.
