The 5G Automotive Alliance (5GAA) and the Next Generation Mobile Networks (NGMN) Alliance have announced to strengthen their relationship and to foster a closer co-operation in the area of 5G-based V2X solutions.
The newly signed co-operation agreement brings together two widely recognised industry organisations in the field of 5G V2X technology and services. 5GAA and NGMN aim to enable and to support the timely and successful delivery of 5G-based communication solutions for connected mobility to the market. In the coming years, both parties intend to achieve this by working together in activities on 5G V2X related issues and by carrying out joint public relation measures.
"The NGMN V2X Task-Force provides essential guidance in terms of end-to-end requirements for automotive use-cases", said Peter Meissner, CEO of the NGMN Alliance. "We are looking forward to a close co-operation with 5GAA to jointly drive successful global development of the required 5G technology platform for the benefit of the whole industry."
Christoph Voigt, Chairperson of the Board of the 5GAA, stated: "5GAA was created to connect telecom industry and vehicle manufacturers to develop end-to-end solutions for future mobility and transportation services. We look forward to working with NGMN to define the requirements of 5G V2X and to create a successful V2X ecosystem."
