Result of the project Service Quality Definition and Measurement shall be to better understand the end to end subscriber quality of experience of streamed video in mobile networks. This experience has to be measureable and clearly defined with key attributes. This project collects currently available data/results and performs subjective testing of streamed video QoE under various impairments common to wireless networks. This will establish "truth" as to what constitutes a good versus bad subscriber QoE as affected by the impairments. This project will then make recommendations on algorithms or methodologies based on measurable KPI metrics that reliably indicate the impairments. This will provide a mechanism whereby QoE can be predicted via correlation between the results of subjective testing and processed measureable attributes, where processing entails the application of an algorithm and/or methodology to the attributes. Definition of the measurable attributes will require specification of the measurement points, the definition of the entities to be measured, and the processing of those measurements into useful KPIs to which algorithms and/or methodologies can be applied.
