Telecom Italia takes Chair seat
Frankfurt, November 18th, 2010 - Last week during the Annual General Meeting, the NGMN Alliance appointed its new Board Members, elected for the period from 2010 to 2012 are:
The first task of the new Board was to elect a Chairman, this honour went to Sandro Dionisi from Telecom Italia. In his first statement as Chairman, he expressed his appreciation for the outgoing Board's achievements and for the leadership of the former Chairman Vivek Badrinath.
Mr. Dionisi stated: "I am honoured to be appointed as the Board Chairman of this global alliance devoted to matters related to the next generation of mobile networks. The NGMN Alliance has shaped the industry and technology development in the last two years towards the successful launch of the first LTE networks. I am now looking forward to closely working with my colleagues strongly focusing on the future challenges of deployment, operations and technology evolution as defined in the Alliance's strategic plan for the phase beyond 2010."
