Major Progress for Next Generation of Mobile Broadband at 2nd NGMN Industry Conference
Top management of world's leading network operators and technology vendors to give an in-depth look at achievements of the NGMN Alliance and challenges facing the mobile industry. Decision-makers, analysts and media to meet in Frankfurt (Germany) from June 25th to June 27th, 2008.
Frankfurt, May 26th, 2008 – The NGMN Alliance today announced that, at the 2nd NGMN Industry Conference, top management of international network operators and technology vendors will discuss the progress of Mobile Broadband Communications. From June 25th to June 27th developments of and achievements in mobile broadband will be the focus of this unique event. It enables attendees to acquire detailed understanding of technologies, business models as well as of services and applications for private and business users.
“The development of Mobile Broadband Communications is closely connected to the success of the internet. A highly efficient network infrastructure and user-friendly devices are indispensable preconditions to exploit the full potential of innovations of the internet and mobile communications. At this Industry Conference, solutions will be presented and crucial milestones for the future will be discussed, This conference is the only occasion at which top management from the wider mobile sector and from NGMN partner companies meet ” said Dr. Peter Meissner, Operating Officer of the NGMN Alliance.
The NGMN Industry Conference will start with a “Demo Night” on 25th of June, where world-leading industry players will demonstrate their latest next-generation solutions.
The opening keynote speaker at the event will be Hamid Akhavan, Chairman of the NGMN Board and CEO of T-Mobile International, who will outline the role of NGMN as “The Engine of Mobile Broadband Innovation”. Matthias Kurth, President of Federal Network Agency, Germany, will provide insights into “Regulatory Aspects for the Next Generation of Mobile Broadband“. The keynote of Caroline Lewko, President and CEO of Wireless Industry Partnership, will focus on “Innovators’ and Application Developers’ Expectations of Platforms and Interfaces for Innovative Services”.
The top-level speakers of the NGMN board and representatives of NGMN partners will present their views on all aspects of Mobile Broadband Communications. Key issues addressed in presentations will be, for example: Efficient Network Infrastructure, Quality of Service and Service Delivery, Future Trends in Devices, as well as commercial aspects such as Intellectual Property matters and Business Opportunities for Investors.
