NGMN at Mobile World Congress 2010

GSMA and NGMN Alliance announce a jointly developed stream on "Technology Evolution – True Mobile Broadband Ahead" at the Mobile World Congress conference. Meet NGMN representatives at the NGMN Hospitality Suite.

As part of the MWC main conference programme, GSMA and NGMN are presenting a specific stream on Thursday, February 18th, 2010, with top speakers from Partners of the NGMN Alliance as well as other leading companies of the mobile industry.

With the initial launch of next generation mobile networks based on LTE/SAE standard announced by many operators for 2010, the mobile industry demonstrates its successful efforts to move true mobile broadband from promise to reality. Major technology challenges have been overcome, and with launch imminent, the focus of the industry is shifting to the key milestones in deployment and operations, and to the availability of new services and devices. They will take advantage of the bandwidth expansion and advanced functionalities which the new standard provides.

The in-depth session on "Technology Evolution – True Mobile Broadband Ahead", developed jointly by GSMA and NGMN, will cover key deployment and operations issues like roaming and operational efficiency; major industry players in the device area will discuss the evolution in mobile broadband devices; and industry thought-leaders will examine the remaining challenges on the way to successful next generation mobile broadband with a focus on standardisation, network transition, backhaul, and certification.
